Day long prayer for Abundance
By Mut Danu

O Habundia ! I am waking up now and my first thoughts are of you. I'm tired of feeling like I don't have 'enough'. Won't you please come and fill me to overflowing with lots of good stuff?

And now I am throwing wide open the bedroom window, the one that looks to the East. The sun is glowing gold and the clouds are rosy and purple with gold-tinted edges. A thousand tiny daisies are blooming among a hundred thousand deep green blades of grass and a million little creeping, crawling, buzzing, flying beings are doing their thing.

O Habundia ! Now I am downstairs breathing in the aroma of steaming hot darjeeling tea perfumed with spices and laced with milk. I am biting into crunchy toasted bread that is dripping with fresh, soft butter and honey that the bees made from acacia flowers.

And now I'm standing in front of my clothes closet that is filled with so many things, and is indeed overflowing, even onto the ironing board. There are shirts, pants, dresses, scarves, shoes, all so richly colored and truly I will never be able to wear out all of these clothes. There are so many beautiful things here, more than I can ever use. I have enough to give some of them to others.

O Habundia ! Now I am standing outside and turn back to look at my home. For I do have a home with a solid roof over it for when the weather is bad and a comfortable chair for when I need to sit down and rest, and a feeling of security for when I close my eyes to sleep.

And now I'm in the grocery store where the shelves are full of everything imaginable to eat and drink. And I have money in my purse enough to buy what we need to feel nourished and be healthy.

O Habundia ! Now I am glowing rosy gold like the sun at the store cashier who has just looked me in the eyes and smiled letting me know that she sees me as a person, and now I am smiling and helping the woman with the baby in a stroller who is struggling down the flight of steps. And now she is smiling and thanking me abundantly.

And throughout the day I may be doing teaching or gardening or some other work, but I'm doing it well and with a feeling that my work is helpful and for the good of all.

O Habundia ! Now my face is turned to the sunset, listening to the chirping of a hundred cicadas and listening to my life partner as he plays with words to make me laugh. And we have enough food to eat and fresh, clean water to drink and a soft bed for later.

Now I am filled with the wonder that so many small things, can make life feel so plentiful when they are acknowledged as important.
Thank you Goddess Habundia ! So Be It!
