Mabon Seasonal Projects
By Dawn "Belladonna" Thomas
Luminaries
Make a luminary to honor the women in your life. These are the supplies to make the luminary bags:
Brown paper lunch bags
Scissors or craft knife
Leaves (or another symbol) for templates
Markers
Sand
Tea candles
Matches
Lay the leaves on the bag and trace with a marker. Then use the scissors or a craft knife to cut out the leaves. When finished, fill the bottom of the bags with sand and place a tea candle in each bag. Light the candles and leave them lit until they go out by themselves.
Grape Wreath
Give thanks and praise for all that you have in your life. These are the supplies to make the wreath:
A small grapevine wreath
Small clusters of grapes
Leaves
Glue gun
Ribbon (a fall color- orange, brown, gold, or a mixed-color ribbon)
Using the glue gun, glue the grapes and leaves on the wreath. Decide how the ribbon will look. Hang the wreath in a visible place inside or outside of your home as a reminder.
Gratitude Plaque
This is another example to remind me to be thankful. I have the word "Gratitude" as a rubber stamp. Whenever I use the stamp it reminds me to be thankful. I am making a plaque using this rubber stamp and a ceramic oval plaque. I plan on hanging this plaque in my bathroom so that I see it first thing in the morning. I think it will be a great way to start the day.
