La
Benvinguda is Catalan for 'The Welcome', and it is for
me, a piece to symbolize my acceptance of miscarrying
twins last fall and my readiness to try again.
I
drew the quiet chaos of worries in the background, then
the mother and an energy representation of her child,
with a flower blooming as energy moves outward from her
womb. She is at peace, ready for the new life!
The
wonderful thing is, about 2 weeks after I drew this, I
found I was pregnant again! And so and La Benivinguda is
a mother's welcome. |

The
Prayer is how I have always viewed prayer, meditation,
or any spiritual work. It is my depiction of
energy movement in ritual. I usually see energy in
greens, blues, and whites. So this is my letting it move
around me as I meditate on it. I have to do this often
because of my health and am encouraged by my doctors to
do so. I painted this trying to show my husband what I
saw and how it felt for me. |

Sacred
Space is a rough image of the energy moving around my
own sacred space. I keep it over my 'space' so I can
move more easily into my meditation. The stones
represent the jewels we find while meditating: jewels of
knowledge, inspiration, peace, and anything else we seek
from Her. |
Aimee
Santana lives in Virginia with her husband, two cats, and a
4-month pregnancy. She says, "I'm into anything and
everything, and create as the Goddess moves me."
