I have long been a fan of Sounds True, known for quality audio/visual products.  Many different publishers create audio/visual products, but in my opinion none capture the depth of material offered from their speakers.  By comparison others seem to only cover the surface of a subject, whereas Sounds True offers in-depth presentations of subject material as complete audio/visual offerings.

Material offered by Sounds True has always been focused on spiritual and/or self development.  I have found that recently they are beginning to move into earth religions and other alternative subjects.

One such is Starhawk's Earth Magic released this month.  Earth Magic is a four CD collection of spoken audio.  Disc One is devoted to historical information beginning thousands of years ago, through various cultures, the fearful times when paganism and earth based religions moved underground,   and  ending with contemporary traditions. 

Disc Two takes the listener through the cycles of life, viewing the Goddess as change and transformation, seasons of sun and moon, nature and the elements, life, death, regeneration, and rebirth.  She also introduces explanations of magic and flows of energy, the three selves borrowed from Victor Andersons, Faery Tradition, and the ethics of spellcasting.

Disc Three moves into actual practices: listening to the world around us, grounding, the five states of awareness, the Elements,  as well as practices for each.  This begins the experiential instruction where listener stops the CD and then practices her suggestions out in nature.

Finally Disc Four discusses the magical practices of casting a circle, intention, anchoring, creating alliances with plants, a drum journey, and finally, ending with healing, magic, and gratitude.

I have listened to this audio package several times now.  I have loved it each time.  Sounds True and Starhawk have created a wonderful package for both  newcomers to earth religions and to the Old Crafter like me!
